Hi, I’m Karen, a Vancouver-based graphic designer with a focus on Interface and User Experience design. I am a freelance designer who works on various projects - both personal and professional. Even though I work alone most of the time, I also love working in collaborative environments where thoughts and ideas are freely shared. 

Case Study | UI/UX Study for a fictional non-profit charity | Desktop | Jan - Mar 2021

This theme was taken to three different classes for further exploration: Information Architecture  (team project), UI/UX Prototyping Tools (the solo project where I designed 6 pages in Adobe XD), and Illustrator 2 (solo project for logo and marketing ad exploration). I explored UI / UX strategies, Information Architecture, Customer Journey Mapping, Task Analysis, Prototyping, Branding, and Creative Advertising. For this project, I was one of the market researchers, User Interface & User Experience Designer, and Graphic Designer.

Commissioned Work | UI Design for NFT Brand | Desktop & Mobile | Graphic Design | October 2021

As this was my first UI commissioned work, I was tasked with putting learned knowledge into real-world practice. I designed a website for a client who is in the non-fungible token industry. The task involved creating a brand based on the given name Fortune Tigers with a Chinese New Year theme. Deliverables included a brand lockup, graphics for their website and social media platforms, and an appealing interface design. I took the role of the Market Researcher, User Interface & User Experience Designer, and Graphic Designer.
